It is twice marked with the original owner's name, an apparent "Ed Haiflich". A search of the National Archives unfortunately did not reveal a match. The hardware is green painted steel, approximately dating the headband's production from mid 1942 to late 1943. It exhibits third pattern spring clips, which have a fold in the metal's bottom edge. This is a very durable toy that’s reasonably priced. For some reason, my dog didn’t take to it. It might be the round shape, but there’s nothing wrong with the product. The size is good for large dogs. My dog is 50 pounds and there’s a chance it was too big for him. I’m not sure. But I think if your dog has enjoyed other similar toys, this is a good buy.
