It is cool to the touch and when it warms up just move it around to a fresh spot, its comfortable. I thought i was purchasing the gel one so I was a little bummed out when it wasn't the same as my other one but thats on me. The product is thinner then the gel version but it still cools the same so im happy with that. When the box was delivered I was worried cause that packaging looked like it had been opened and closed back with tape as it was kinda just rolled up and shoved un the box but there is no rips, stains or bad smells. Over all I do like my gel version more then this one but it will be a fine substitute while that one is washing.

Bought this for my son and just ordered me one

My son's college apartment runs warm (that is probably because college students trying to save money) so we decided to order him this cooling comforter. This is a game changer! It is thin like a blanket so we removed the flat sheet and put this under our regular comforter. My husband needs the thickness of our regular comforter because he says I freeze him out at night. This 'comforter' is so soft, fits the bed great (as a blanket or comforter), and is truly cooling. Now, that's not to say I haven't woken up a little on the warm side but all I need to do is readjust to a cool spot under the blanket and I fall right back to sleep. The grey is very light but it is washable as needed.
